After the opportunity to serve as the assistant coach at Duke University presented itself, she entered the college coach field and has made her mark there as well.

Despite pursuing a career as a professional golfer, Michigan Women’s Head Coach Jan Dowling always felt she wanted to get into coaching. She is a self-proclaimed golf nerd, and the impact her college coach at Kent State made on her left a lasting impression. When offered the chance to join the Kent State program as their assistant coach, she made the move into college coaching. Finishing up her 7th season at Michigan, Coach Dowling and her team were just gaining some momentum as the season came to such an unexpected end due to the COVID-19 virus. She talks about the emotional end to the season and all that she has learned over her time as a college coach.

She had 2 wins during the fall season and a runner-up finish in their last tournament. Natalie discusses how disappointing it was to have her senior year cut short but how she is looking at the positives as she gets ready for the next phase of her life, professional golf. She shares about her time at Furman and the advice she has for those getting ready to take on college golf in the coming years.

You may not think much when you hear the name UNC Charlotte. Even Coach Holly Clark admits she didn't when she was considered for the first-ever women's head golf coach back in 2015. But that has certainly changed. Coach Clark joined the UNC Charlotte coaching staff after 6 years as the assistant coach at Vanderbilt. Prior to that, she started the Carson Newman women's golf program. When the opportunity to build another program from scratch presented itself, Coach Clark and her husband headed to Charlotte and with that came a determination and confidence for not just building a program, but being one of the best. Coach Amy Bond didn’t have plans of being a college coach, but when the opportunity to continue playing professional golf while also being the assistant coach at her alma mater was presented, she felt like it was a no-brainer. That was the awakening of her new-found passion for being a college coach. She went on to be the head coach at Princeton for 4 years, before the chance to return back to Florida State as their new head coach was given to her in 2010. And she has loved every minute of it and shares that love for coaching in this episode.
